Our Pure Goat Company’s Organic bottle formula is packed with organic full-cream goat milk. We then add the usual extra nutrients, such as iron, vitamins and other minerals. We’ve also topped it up a notch by adding organic GOS fibre from milk and omega-3 DHA* from algae. Why? Because enough research has been done on the advantages of adding these ingredients.

Everything else in it is required by law, and with good reason. No other additives, such as maltodextrin, vegetable oil from the tropics or tuna fish oil are added.

* As of 2020, DHA is a mandatory ingredient in infant formula.

Organic goat's milk

We use only organic goat’s milk from a Dutch organisation to make our bottle formula. A few organic goat farmers from Germany and Belgium are also affiliated with this organisation. So we remain a Dutch product with a slight European touch.

Our goats are fed organic feed as much as possible from their own land or from organic farmers in the area. Therefore, no chemical pesticides or fertilisers are used. The goats also have lots of extra space in the stables and they can go outside to graze.

No vegetable oil from the tropics

We add fats to our formula to meet the nutritional needs. In addition to the milk fat from full-cream goat’s milk, we use vegetable oil from Europe: sunflower and rapeseed oil from organic farming. Therefore, in our products you will not find soya oil from Brazil, or coconut oil and palm oil from Asia. Simply because there are very good organic crops in Europe and it is therefore not necessary to import our ingredients from far away.

With omega-3 DHA from algae and not from tuna

The scientific community has long known this and now, fortunately, the industry itself does too. As of 2020, it will be compulsory to add DHA to infant formulae and follow-on milk.

That is why we, naturally, also add DHA to our infant formula and follow-on milks. This is DHA made from algae. Most brands contain DHA made from tuna. Just look on the back of the packaging of other brands and look for the word ‘fish oil’. Tuna contains a lot of DHA, because tuna eat other fish, which in turn eat algae as well. We believe you should stay away from tuna and that’s why we simply add the source of DHA: algae.

Organic lactose only

We only add lactose from milk as a source of carbohydrates and no other sugars like maltodextrin (from potatoes or corn, for example) or glucose (from sugar beets, for example), simply because it is not necessary to use anything other than lactose.

Organic GOS fibres

Our bottle formula contains organic GOS fibres, which stands for Galacto-OligoSaccharides. GOS has been added to infant formulae for some time, but hardly added to all organic formulae. Recently, organic GOS has also been produced (from organic milk) and we are one of the first to add it to our formula.

And what else?

Our packaging states how much of each nutrient it contains: the so-called “average nutritional value”. This table shows all the nutrients per 100 g of powder and per 100 ml of ready-made formula.

Under “Ingredients” you will also find the detailed chemical names of all the vitamins and minerals we add. Since there are several types of these nutrients, you won’t really understand much if we only mention “Vitamin A” or “Calcium”. So, that’s why it says “Retinyl acetate” and not “Vitamin A”, and not “Calcium” but “Calcium hydroxide”.

In a nutshell, these are the vitamins we add to our formula:
Retinyl acetate – Vitamin A
Thiamine hydrochloride – Vitamin B1
Riboflavin – Vitamin B2
Nicotinamide – Vitamin B3
Calcium D-pantothenate – Vitamin B5
Pyridoxine hydrochloride – Vitamin B6
Cyanocobalamin – Vitamin B12
L-ascorbic acid – Vitamin C
Cholecalciferol – Vitamin D
DL-α-tocopheryl acetate – Vitamin E
Phytomenadione – Vitamin K
