Preparing Vegetable Snacks

You can prepare the first snacks with ingredients such as sweet potato, beetroot, tomato, zucchini, cauliflower, peas, green beans, broccoli, pumpkin, or carrot. These flavors are often well-tolerated. Use the recipe below to make a simple and healthy first snack.
You can make vegetable snacks in larger quantities and freeze them so you always have a stock. Follow these steps:

  1. Wash the vegetables – Rinse the vegetables thoroughly under running water and remove any bad spots or leaves.
  2. Cook without salt – Cook the vegetables in a small amount of water until they are tender. The cooking time varies depending on the vegetable.
  3. Cool down – Place the cooked vegetables in a bowl of cold water to cool them down quickly.
  4. Mash – Mash the vegetables with a fork, grate them, or use a hand blender or food processor for a smooth texture.
  5. Divide into portions – Take a small portion for your baby and store an extra portion in the fridge for the next day.
  6. Freeze – Divide the rest into freezer bags, containers, or an ice cube tray. Make sure everything is well sealed.
  7. Label – Write the date and the contents of the snack on the packaging.
  8. Store – Freeze the snacks and use them within three months.
Tip: Want to make the snack extra creamy? Add a spoonful of Pure Goat after preparing. Note: Snacks with Pure Goat cannot be frozen.
