Tummy cramps
Almost every parent encounters it: cramps in their baby. These small discomforts are a common occurrence during the first few months of your little one’s life. Although it’s a normal part of development, it can be tough to see your baby feeling uncomfortable. Fortunately, there are ways to ease the pain and help your baby feel better.
Reflux & Spitting up
Spitting up milk is a very common occurrence in babies. Many parents ask themselves, “Why is my baby spitting up an entire feed?” However, this is not necessarily a cause for concern. It’s a normal physiological phenomenon that can have several different causes.
Diarrhoea
Diarrhoea in babies can be concerning for parents, especially when it comes on suddenly. It’s characterized by watery, loose stools that occur more frequently than usual, often with an unpleasant smell and sometimes mucus or blood. Although diarrhea is usually temporary and harmless, it can cause discomfort. It’s important to closely monitor the symptoms and seek medical advice if your baby also has a fever, is vomiting, or shows signs of dehydration.
Constipation
As a parent, you naturally want your baby to feel well and not experience any discomfort. Constipation, or difficulty passing stool, is a common issue in babies and can lead to hard stools, pain, or discomfort. While it’s normal for babies to have different bowel movement patterns, parents may become concerned when bowel movements become infrequent or difficult. Some babies may only poop every few days. Every child has their own unique pattern. What matters most is that your baby doesn’t experience discomfort during bowel movements.
Hungry
A hungry baby can be a challenge for any parent. Does your little one start crying again within two hours after a feed and not sleep through? Maybe they didn’t get enough to eat. But how can you tell if your baby is truly hungry? What can you do if your baby always seems to be hungry? Is supplementing an option, and how can you prevent your baby from getting too much? In this article, we’ll cover the signs of hunger, feeding methods, and practical tips for dealing with eager drinkers.
Crying
As a parent, it can sometimes be a challenge to figure out why your baby is crying. It’s completely understandable to feel helpless, especially when your little one is hard to soothe. But remember: crying is the main way a baby communicates. It can be a sign of hunger, a dirty diaper, tiredness, cramps, or another need. While it may feel stressful for you, crying is a natural and necessary way for your baby to say: "I need you."
Allergies
As a parent, you naturally want the very best for your baby. That’s why it’s especially concerning when your little one seems to suffer from stomach pain, a rash, or other discomfort after eating. Many parents then wonder: is this an allergy, or perhaps an intolerance? Although these terms are often used interchangeably, there is an important difference in both the cause and the approach.
Eczema & baby acne
It’s perfectly normal to worry when your little baby develops spots or a rash. Two common skin conditions in babies are baby acne and eczema. While both are usually harmless, it’s helpful to understand what they are, what might cause them, and how to best care for your baby’s skin.
Hiccpus
Hiccups in babies are a common and completely normal occurrence. Many parents get worried when they see their little one jerking, but fortunately, babies usually don't experience much discomfort from it. Still, it's useful to understand why babies get hiccups and how you can possibly prevent or relieve them.
